Meet Slim

Slim was found as a stray by one of our volunteers. He had obvious injuries to his hips and legs so she took him to the vet to be checked out. We agreed to help with his medical. It was found that he had old breaks to his legs and one hip. We assumed he had been hit by a car. No one ever claimed him and we made room where we didn’t really have it at our Paws to Care facility.

Months went by and wonky Slim started to grow on our volunteers. He felt fine and played like crazy but he just had a wonky gait about him. One day someone was in our facility and recognized him. She said that she wondered where he had gone and that he was beaten with a bat as a puppy on her street. It broke our hearts to hear that and to see how loving and trusting he still was.

Slim was eventually paired up with a kennel partner and lived and played all day with her. He lived at our facility for 6 months until someone contacted us one day and said she could not get his face out of her head. She came to meet him and they hit it off. Later that afternoon she came to pick him up and make him a part of her family. Slim now has a home with 2 children, 2 other dogs, and a mom and dad who love him so much. Happy life Slim, now Hoosier!
